Fenerbahçe SK's Domenico Tedesco has joined Bologna FC, signing a contract until June 2028. The Italian coach will replace Vincenzo Italiano, who left the club last week. Bologna finished the season in eighth place in Serie A. Tedesco has become the seventh different team he has managed in his career, and the fifth different country he has worked in. He previously managed Erzgebirge Aue, Schalke 04, Spartak Moscow, RB Leipzig, and the Belgium national team. Tedesco worked at Fenerbahçe from September 2025 to April 2026. His tenure ended after a 3-0 loss to Galatasaray in a derby match. After leaving Fenerbahçe, Tedesco spoke to the German press, saying, “We were just discussing contract extensions a short time ago. Now, after the second league defeat, the decision to leave has been made. This shows how quickly football can change.” The 40-year-old coach made his first major breakthrough in 2017 with Erzgebirge Aue, and then led Schalke 04 to a Bundesliga runner-up finish, drawing attention in European football.
