Fenerbahçe SK's summer signing, Polish goalkeeper Kacper Tobiasz, has stated he is settling in at the club and revealed his personal preparation led to a penalty save in last week's match against Göztepe. Speaking to reporters, Tobiasz explained that notes he keeps in his glove are not a guaranteed solution but worked this time as he guessed the correct corner.
"I take notes for myself. It's not a 100% guarantee every time, sometimes it doesn't work, but this time it worked because I guessed the corner correctly," said Tobiasz.
MORALE AHEAD OF BAŞAKŞEHİR MATCH
Tobiasz said the team's morale is very good following last week's 1-1 friendly draw with AS Roma, and they are now focused on the away match against Başakşehir in the 5th week of the Süper Lig. Fenerbahçe sit 9th in the league with 6 points from 4 matches and will look to improve their standing. Tobiasz noted the opponent is one of Turkey's big clubs and expects a high-energy match.
"We will enter the pitch to compete and do everything possible to win," the Polish goalkeeper stated. He emphasised that being seen as favourites does not mean they will not fight on the pitch, adding they expect support from their fans.
NATIONAL TEAM AMBITION
Kacper Tobiasz said playing for the national team is every player's dream and he has worked hard for it. Fenerbahçe's form in the last five matches reads three wins, one draw and one defeat. Jayden Oosterwolde is currently on the injury list.
