Former Besiktas football director Önder Özen hailed Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as a 'part-man, part-machine' figure, crediting him for driving Galatasaray towards another Süper Lig title. Özen highlighted Osimhen’s mentality, physical strength, and determination after Galatasaray's commanding 3-0 derby victory over fierce rivals Fenerbahçe at RAMS Park.

Osimhen made a heroic return from a five-week injury layoff, having fractured his forearm in a Champions League clash. Despite concerns and a failed petition by Fenerbahçe to ban him due to his protective arm cast, Osimhen was cleared to play. He broke the deadlock in the 40th minute, muscling past defenders to score instinctively with his knee, a goal followed by a viral celebration.

Despite his recent injury, Osimhen proved too much for Fenerbahçe, registering game-high figures of seven shots, 13 touches in the penalty area, and five aerial duels. His goal marked his 20th across all competitions this season. Galatasaray further solidified their lead after Fenerbahçe goalkeeper Ederson was sent off, with Barış Alper Yılmaz converting a penalty and Lucas Torreira adding a third goal.

Following the emphatic win, Osimhen drew attention with his blunt remark, stating that Galatasaray’s training sessions had been tougher than the derby itself, underscoring his exceptional mindset and readiness.
