Fenerbahçe announced its plans to acquire Ferdi Kadıoğlu on 21 August 2026. The 26-year-old moved to Brighton for €30 million in 2024 and is under contract until 2028. The club aims to bring him in on loan with a purchase option if Lyon is secured.
According to Aspor, the Red-Blue camp has already initiated contact with both Kadıoğlu and Brighton. The player, who is contracted to the English club until 2028, is being considered for a loan deal that includes a buy-out clause.
Kadıoğlu joined Fenerbahçe from Dutch representative Nijmegen in 2018, appearing in 204 matches for the club and contributing 18 goals and 22 assists. He transferred to Brighton for €30 million in 2024, and the club is interested in his contract running until 2028.
Internationally, Kadıoğlu has earned 32 caps for Turkey, scoring twice, and notably netted a goal against Romania that opened the door to the World Cup. In the previous season, he played 42 matches for the English side, logging 3 515 minutes. He scored once against Chelsea and finished the season with seven yellow cards.
Fenerbahçe plans to bring Kadıoğlu to the squad if the Lyon deal goes through, while also aiming to secure a loan with a purchase option from Brighton. This move underscores the Red-Blue club’s ongoing effort to strengthen its young talent pool.
