Fenerbahçe SK captain Milan Skriniar has made striking comments about his 18-month experience at the club while on international duty with Slovakia. The defender revealed he has worked under three different head coaches, three presidents and three general directors during his time in Istanbul.
"Things at Fenerbahçe are always crazy (laughs)." Skriniar said. The captain described the emotional experience as being like a rollercoaster and emphasised the massive scale of the club.
Skriniar highlighted the incredible achievement of qualifying for the Champions League after an 18-year wait. "We managed to rise to the Champions League after 18 years. It's an incredible thing. Now we want to get out of the group," he stated.
While acknowledging the team did not start the league campaign as desired, Skriniar said the atmosphere is good and they are striving to reach the top. He noted the league's quality is very high with big players and coaches arriving from Europe, adding that winning the title won't be easy but the team wants to be at the summit.
Fenerbahçe currently sit 6th in the Süper Lig with 10 points from 6 matches. Their recent form reads two wins, two draws and one defeat from the last five outings. The team's next fixture is away to 9th-placed Rizespor on October 10.
