The date for the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby in the 2026-2027 Trendyol Süper Lig season has been set. The Turkish Football Federation announced the match will be played on Monday, 26 October 2026 at 21:30.
The TFF explained the reasoning behind the decision. The federation stated, "The Galatasaray - Fenerbahçe match to be played in the 9th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig has been scheduled for 26 October 2026, in line with a letter dated 14 September from the Istanbul Governorate Police Directorate, taking into account the security measures to be taken for intensive events across Istanbul on 25 October 2026." The match was originally planned for Sunday, 25 October.
Fenerbahçe SK currently sit 11th in the Süper Lig with 7 points from 5 matches. The team's form over the last five games reads two wins, two draws, and one defeat. After drawing 0-0 with Gaziantep FK on 14 September, the yellow-navy blues trail league leaders Galatasaray by 6 points.
In the same announcement, the federation shared dates for other key derbies. The Trabzonspor-Beşiktaş match will be on 19 October at 20:00, Beşiktaş-Galatasaray on 30 November at 21:00, and Fenerbahçe-Trabzonspor on 13 December at 19:00. The TFF noted that changes to the schedule may occur based on Ziraat Turkey Cup matchups.
